I am one that usually does not write reviews, but i was so impressed with this little unit I had to! Clearly this little home theater gives you a big sound out of very small speakers at an unbelievable price! The trick to this home theater system is setting it up properly. All HTIB factory settings are very flat sounding.Anyone that complains that this unit is not loud enough probably didn't take the time to set it up. Make sure you turn the speaker levels and the subwoofer up. The center speaker is very loud and clear so you may want to turn it down a bit. I turn the built in EQ to heavy sometimes I change this setting depending on what I am listening to, power bass on, center focus on. In the menu setup I changed the rear speaker setting to have constant sound coming to the rear speakers. Surround settings I set to standard so if you are watching a blue ray or DVD or direct tv it will encode the best possible signal. I sampled Avatar and Batman on blue ray and was blown away with the action scenes!This unit does a nice job upscaling regular DVD to a better picture quality as well. I am not telling you that this is the top of the line piece of equipment, but for the money this unit hands down beats its competition and should satisfy most regular home listeners.

Great sound, small package, excellent value - J. Padykula - Rockaway, NJ
The reviews were so good I was worried I'd be disappointed because my expectations were too high. Not so - I love it. The reviews nailed it.br /br /I'm using it as a bedroom stereo (FM CD) and playing DVDs BDs on a 23" LCD, but it's good enough for a living room, especially if space is tight. It hasn't rejected a disc yet, including my home burned DVDs. I haven't updated the firmware (it works fine as-is) or hooked it up to the internet, so I can't comment on that (but I'm looking forward to tying NetFlix).br /br /Minor criticisms: There is a very quiet cooling fan, so it's not silent. More settings on the equalizer would be nice. Panasonic should switch the ON and OPEN buttons (ON is above drawer and OPEN way on other side).br /br /Bottom line: Great sound, small package, excellent value. When I first saw the box (under 19x14x11") I thought it must be the woofer only. It can't compete against big, hi-fi systems costing $hundreds more, and it doesn't have tons of connections (but more than enough for me). I'm giving it 5 stars based on bang for the buck and size. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I got a great deal on this sound system, 0 with free shipping. I am pleased with the sound quality and the look of everything. I especially like the simpleness of the speakers. The only thing I have noticed is that when you turn it on, it takes a while to get up and going. And if you want to switch from TV to the Blue Ray Player, radio, or ipod, you have to push the button twice each time. br /br /We are not very picky about our sound, but I think the sound quality is great. Overall I am very satisfied though and feel like I got a great deal on a great product.
